The company has been family run since its founding in 1884 and has faced many changes throughout its history. Established as a producer of peat litter, today’s core business areas are the production of substrates for home gardening and the extraction of peat. Furthermore, it runs a composting plant.
Our work involves the extraction and processing of peat, green compost, wood fibres, bark and coir pith for the production of high-quality potting soils and special mixtures.
To allow us to concentrate on our core business activities, sale and distribution of our substrates are outsourced to Floragard, a leading company in this sector. Meiners is one of the founding shareholders of Floragard, which was established in 1919.
The company’s head office is located in 27246 Borstel, with a subsidiary based in 27259 Varrel. We have around 40 to 50 employees.
